Actions or plans to address this risk Organisation’s response: We have been working on the issue of child labour in this sector since 2005. We have continued to ensure ETI Base Code implementation with our T1 and T2 suppliers. We have also worked closely with the ILO Child Labour Platform to address sectoral issues. Actions or plans to address this risk Organisation’s response: All of our suppliers in China were asked to complete the 2.0 version of the SRA Slavery & Trafficking Risk Template - which specifically references the issue in China. We also asked those companies supplying solar panels to complete an STRT - those not doing so were taken off our supplier list and will not be invited to tender moving forward.

Actions or plans to address this risk Organisation’s response: Following supply chain investigation by the IOM a further audit and special report was undertaken. We have worked with the supplier regarding this issue. We are in the process of implementing live monitoring. Our work with the IOM, the British Embassy in Hanoi and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry stalled as a result of Covid, but will be revitalised in 2021.

What are ILO indicators of forced labour?
The International Labour Organization (ILO) has produced a list of the most common signs of forced labour. We have used key performance indicators since our first statement, and continue to do so. You can find our progress on page 1 or our statement and our KPIs for the next twelve months on page 2. I would highlight here the work that we have done to enhance our own human rights due diligence systems and processes - you can a diagram on page 8.
